Who We Are and How We Work

Spray Foam Insulation New Philadelphia insulates homes and outbuildings in the Tuscarawas County seat and the hill country to the south and east: Uhrichsville and Dennison, the Moravian river towns of Gnadenhutten and Newcomerstown, Coshocton, and the Harrison and Carroll county seats of Cadiz and Carrollton.

This is old coal-and-clay country. New Philadelphia's early industry made brick, roofing tile and sewer pipe, Dennison was laid out around railroad shops and yards, and many of the houses from those years are still standing. Close to 30% of New Philadelphia's homes and more than a third of Coshocton's were built before 1940. Those houses were never designed to hold heat the way a modern home does.

Our approach

We start with an inspection, not a sales pitch. We measure attic insulation, look at the wall cavities through an outlet or test hole, check the basement or crawl space and the rim joist, and look for problems that have to be fixed before insulation: roof leaks, rotted sills, damp walls, active knob-and-tube wiring, vermiculite and pests.

Then we put a plan on paper. Each space gets a line with the material, the depth or foam thickness, the target R-value and the price. Spray foam goes where its air sealing and moisture resistance are worth paying for; blown-in insulation goes where it does the job for less. You approve the plan before work starts, and any change gets agreed in writing.

Typical customers

Owners of pre-war homes along New Philadelphia's older avenues. Landlords in Uhrichsville and Dennison with drafty rentals. Families in 1970s and 1980s houses that never got air sealed. Owners of pole barns and metal buildings in the hills who need them dry and heatable. Buyers with an inspection report in hand.
